Joe leads the Parker Family Laws practice and is the founder of the firm. Joe has practiced exclusively in the area of family law since 1996 and is an Accredited Family Law Specialist.

He has had extensive experience in all facets of family law, including: complex parenting disputes involving abuse allegations and family violence, urgent recovery orders, domestic violence, complex financial property settlement matters, consent orders and binding financial agreements, proceedings in the local Magistrates Courts, interstate and international relocation cases, grandparent parenting cases and same sex parenting disputes. Joe is well respected by legal colleagues and has regularly helped community groups over the years, especially those involved in promoting equality, the development of our youth and combating domestic violence.

Joe is a firm believer in the value of mediation and endeavors to resolve many matters without the need for court intervention. When the Court process is called for Joe is a tough negotiator and a strong court advocate, never shying away from a position which he believes must be maintained for a client. Joe understands the stressful environment in which family law matters are conducted and he is committed to ensuring that his clients have the information they require to understand their position and options. He compassionately seeks to provide his clients with an outcome which not only protects their legal interest, but also allows clients to move forward to the next phase of their lives with dignity and integrity.

Joe is married and has four (4) children. He was a past Chairman of the Redcliffe PCYC for 7 years. He has sat on Law Society, Domestic Violence and Legal Aid committees/review boards. He commenced studies in Social work before completing his law degree.
